We are a team of undergraduate students aspiring to work towards change. Every eight child in urban India lives in slums. We, being fortunate enough to have been endowed with opportunities and resources, intend to bring rays of hope, knowledge, confidence, and independence in the lives of these not-so-fortunate children. Just the way a Jugnu (firefly) sparkles against the night, we wish to show them a path towards an enlightened future- through education.
Our Team
India has the largest youth population in the world with 356 million 10-24 years old (U.N. report, New York,2014). Then why is the country lagging in development? The youth can transform the future only if they have skills, health, decision making ability, and real choices in life. The solution is not just education, but the right type of education.
Learning that blossoms imagination and creativity can transform the world. Education needs to be multi-dimensional with creativity, capacity building, awareness, and human values. As a team, Jugnu assists in admission of children in government schools, thus bringing Right to Education in reach of the oblivious communities in Delhi. Also, we conduct regular interactive sessions and workshops aimed at creative learning, health awareness and wholesome development.
